Bricks Assets — Asset Register

Any asset. Any date. Any book.

You shouldn't have to reverse-engineer a mid-year value every time someone asks what an asset is worth. Pick a date. See the answer. Switch between Book, Tax, AMT, and State with a click.

"The schedule we were working on before, they don't really make it easy because it's a year-end statement. If I'm looking in the middle of the year, I don't know where I'm at depreciation-wise. So this tells me as of today, this is how much it's worth, this is how much depreciation is left, and I can just book the depreciation right off really fast." — Controller, Manufacturing

"Makes life a whole lot easier."
"I have to go to our auditors and say, hey guys, we sold this. I think we acquired it in 2016. I think we paid about $20K. Is it fully depreciated? And then by the time I get my journal entry, a whole day's gone by. I mean, I want to be able to do these things on my own."
Controller, Manufacturing
"Yeah, I love it. That's great, because this is what I didn't have before in QuickBooks. All I have is total assets, total depreciation, per year. I don't have it for each asset. So this is awesome."
Controller, Medical Practice
"They just sent the renewal, and it was like $7,200. It was like enterprise level. We're just looking to right-size things."
Senior Accountant, Advertising
"$600 a year — this is a no-brainer for me. It does what I'd like and more."

FAQ
Can I bring my existing data from spreadsheets or another system?
Yes. Send us your spreadsheet, Bloomberg Tax export, Sage file, or any CSV. We import your assets, match your fields, and verify every number against what you've already reported. Your historical data comes with you — nothing starts from scratch.
Will my auditor accept reports from Bricks?
Yes. Every report exports to PDF, Excel, and CSV in formats auditors expect — depreciation schedules, roll forwards, asset registers, journal entries. Our customers' auditors have reviewed and accepted these reports without issue.
Can it handle multiple entities with different ownership structures?
Yes. We support multi-entity reporting with separate books per entity, TIC (tenancy-in-common) percentage allocation, and consolidated views across all entities. One of our customers manages 9 entities with shared ownership structures in a single account.
Does it integrate with my accounting software?
Today: clean CSV, Excel, and PDF exports that match your GL structure. Direct integrations with QuickBooks and Sage Intacct are on the roadmap.
Does Bricks generate IRS tax forms (4562, 4797)?
No. Your CPA generates the forms. We give them the numbers — depreciation schedules, gain/loss on disposal, Section 179 detail — in the format they need.
What depreciation methods do you support?
SL/FM, MACRS 200DB and 150DB (half-year, mid-quarter, mid-month conventions), Section 179, bonus depreciation, and Canadian CCA. If you have a method we don't handle yet, tell us — we've built every method a customer has asked for.
Is my data secure?
Bricks runs on enterprise Postgres with row-level security, encrypted at rest and in transit. Your data is isolated by organization — no other customer can see it.
